HISTORY
A Brief History of Suthri Maha Tirth
The miracle of the revered idol at the well maintained shrine of Shri Ghrutkalol Parshwanath Prabhu is also world famous. The sun rays touch the lotus feet of the Lord three times a year. This statue was handed over to the Sangh in Vikram Samvat 1721. It was consecrated in a grand temple around 1865.
This contemporary idol was bought by a devotee named Meghji Udiya from a villager and was kept in the granary. Miraculously the granary there became full. One Swami kept the idol in a container of ghee with the thought of shortage of food due to overflowing of Janmedha during Vatsalya and requested the Lord to make everything alright. By the grace of the Lord, Swami Vatsalya was completed without any problem. Despite repeated removal of ghee from the container, the store remained completely full and Swami Vatsalya was completed. Since then the Lord came to be known as Ghrutkalol Parshwanath.
Shri Adinath Bhagwan and Shri Chandraprabha Swami are seated around Moolnayak Ghrutkalol Parshwanath Prabhu. The statue of Dada Adinath is installed in the temple behind the main temple.Lord Ajitnath and Lord Arnath are seated above. Four-faced statues of Lord Shri Jeeravala Parshvanath have been installed in a newly built temple in the complex. The ancient statues of Gautam Swamiji and Padmavati Mataji are also beautiful.
